Lost & Not Found

Dear sir or madam,

I would like to denounce a theft, but I have had several problems to do so. I really think you should do something to improve the procedure to complain about robbery.

On Thursday night, I went to the disco Speakers with my friends and I left my jacket and my hand-made bag with my personal belongings with all the others jackets and bags of other people. When the party was over, my bag was not there. I looked for it a long time, but it was useless.

The next day I went to the police station near Poptahof. I explained my problem to a police officer, and she told me to wait. Someone had to ask me some questions. I waited for 15 minutes, but nobody ask me for details. The police officer told me to wait the whole weekend just in case someone had picked up my bag by mistake. She gave me also a card with the website address of the Police, and she encouraged me to denouce the theft on the Internet.

Today I have gone to Speakers for the second time, to see if somebody found it. However, nothing has appeared. Moreover, my mobile phone (it was into the bag) has been used to make some calls*. Thus it is clear that someone has stolen my bag.

I have tried to denounce this fact with the “Aangifte” form, but it was impossible. After spending some time translating the page (I am sorry I do not understand Dutch yet), I have realized that “stealing general goods” cannot be denounced.

As you can understand, I am upset because I have been robbed, but also because the Police seems not wanting to listen to me. Hopefully, I have not my documents (passport, credit cards and so on) into the bag. However, I have lost my mobile phone, a scarf, the keys of my appartment and other personal belongings I really appreciated.

I have always believed in Justice and Law, but I am losing my faith on the system. It seems you get robbed and thieves have no punishment. I am losing a lot of time trying to do things correctly, but it seems useless to do things right.

I also suggest to you to put at least one form in English to help foregin people to contact the Police. It would be very nice.

I look forward for some instructions on how to proceed to make a statement. I don’t want to go to the police station and waste my time there without any solution.

Thank you very much for your comprehension.

Yours faithfully,

Xesc Arbona

Res, me sap greu això teu. A veure si ho trobes, o t’ho troben…

Ostres!!! Ara entenc perquè no podia dormir els vespres!!! Ja sabia jo que m’havia oblidat d’alguna cosa!!!

Demà (sen falta), les pujo a qualque racó d’Internet (videos inclosos). I promise you.
